REPRESENTING FOR THE UNDERREPRESENTED
About me
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Nailah Howze aka “Cloudnai” captures the beauty of her city through the people she photographs. Her work often features subjects in their natural environments, offering an intimate look into their everyday lives. Before becoming a photographer, she served in the U.S. Air Force, where her time stationed in Korea sparked her love for photography as she documented her surroundings and experiences. Embracing her passion, Nailah made the leap into a full-time creative career and hasn’t looked back since.
Her ability to authentically capture her community has led to collaborations with top brands and publications, including Apple, Nike, Sprite, Adidas, and the L.A. Times. With over 10 years of experience, she is a versatile photographer whose work spans photojournalism, commercial campaigns, behind-the-scenes coverage, and narrative film. She brings a documentary eye and deep respect for story to every set, qualities that make her a strong asset on set.
Beyond her photography work, she is the co-founder of Face2Face, a creative event series based in Los Angeles. Most recently, she launched a women’s volleyball program designed to create a safe and active space for women to build sisterhood on and off the court.
